Chair of Advocacy and Collaboration Committee

We as a committee advocate for the African newborn agenda in the International Forum and identify fellow partners and collaborators.
We also work with National Ministries of Health to strengthen existing national newborn programs and advocate for the establishment of new ones.
The Committee has established partnerships which have yielded Research programs and Advocacy Tools.
The Committee Chair is based in Nigeria and is a Consultant Pediatrician and Head of the Neonatal Unit at the Federal Teaching Hospital Ido-Ekiti.

Advocacy and Collaboration
- Foster partnerships with other African and global professional organisations
- Collaboration with international and national policy makers and governance institutions
- Promoting collaboration and communication amongst all sectors involved promoting newborn care within Africa
- Initiating our own programs to implement best practice in Africa Advocacy for the rights and needs of African newborns and their families
- Advocacy For the urgent need to reduce disparities and improve equity in newborn care
- For the rights and needs of clinicians looking after newborns in Africa
